A cork conspiracy board covered in photos of the nine owls, joined by red string, with Barry Pigeonbane glaring in front of it

Meet The Owls

Nobody knows exactly when or why the HooTang Clan was formed. Some say it began behind a mask. Others blame the pigeons.

What we do know is that nine owls sit at the centre of something much bigger.

Each has a history. Each has a secret. And each claims to know more than the others.

Their stories have been pieced together from intercepted carrier pigeons, questionable testimonies and things the Clan would rather we didn’t find.

The truth is in here somewhere.

Probably.

Case File 01

Barry Pigeonbane

Barry Pigeonbane wasn’t always like this.

He was once a high-flying executive at Goldman Hootsacks and model for National Geographic in his free time.

Then, in 2026, his job was replaced by AI and he sought (not) investment advice from a wise Oracle, the wealthiest pigeon in the forest, bundled together his life savings and aped a shitcoin that has gone up only ever since.

Nobody knows the ticker.

Barry won’t say. Yet.

The Oracle disappeared shortly after. The pigeons have been trying to find him ever since, branding Barry as Pigeonbane for being the last bird to see him alive.

Since then, Barry has used his newfound wealth and dedicated his life to uncovering what he calls “The Breadcrumb Conspiracy.”

Every night at exactly 3.36am, Barry climbs onto the highest branch he can find and whispers:

“They’re not pigeons. Not all of them.”

Nobody knows what he means.

Barry doesn’t either.

But he’s getting closer…

Case File 02

Rufus Knight

Rufus Knight wasn’t always like this.

He used to keep the night watch for the Bureau of Nocturnal Affairs. He was good at his job. Quiet. Reliable. Held tokens and never sold. Strangely, he asked “WEN” instead of using traditional greetings.

Then one night, an oath intended for another owl found its way into Rufus’s claws and he was somehow dragged into the HooTang Clan.

Nobody knows what the oath said.

Rufus does. He just won’t tell anyone.

Knighted by mistake, Rufus became obsessed with making sure every living creature understood his new title.

Since then, he has dedicated his life to what he calls “The Knight’s Pledge.”

Each night, he finds the closest owl, looks them directly in the eyes and whispers:

“The branches we perch on are load-bearing.

So am I.”

Nobody knows what he means.

Rufus doesn’t either.

But he’s getting closer…

Case File 03

Tony Snow

Tony Snow wasn’t always like this.

He used to be one of the most reliable carrier birds in the county. Fast. Discreet. Never late. Most importantly, he never opened the packages.

Then one night, Tony was carrying his biggest shipment yet when it disappeared somewhere over the forest. Nobody knows what happened to it.

Tony says he was ambushed. The pigeons say otherwise.

The owls who paid for the shipment wanted their money back.

Tony didn’t have it.

So the clan paid his debts. Nobody knows why.

Tony does. He just won’t tell anyone.

Since then, Tony has dedicated his life to repaying what he calls “The Beak Debt.”

He still flies every night, delivering messages, packages and occasionally things he shouldn’t.

Each night, during his flight, he finds a random owl and lands next to them, then looks them directly in the eyes and whispers:

“The pigeons know the route. I know the shortcut.”

Nobody knows what he means.

Tony doesn’t either.

But he’s getting closer…

Case File 04

Walter Sparks

Walter Sparks wasn’t always like this.

He used to be a perfectly ordinary owl with both eyes and absolutely no interest in cybernetics. Then came the Pigeon Uprising.

Nobody knows exactly what started the war.

He was sent into the forest to defend the HooTang Clan and returned three days later missing an eye, bald from the neck down. He was barely alive.

So the Clan sent him to Wookanda. Nobody knows what happened there. Walter does. He returned weeks later as something else entirely.

Half owl.

Half cyborg.

His new armour was forged from Furbranium, a material so rare that even the owls who invented it aren’t entirely sure what it is.

Since then, Walter has dedicated his life to protecting the HooTang Clan from what he calls “The Red Candle.”

Each night, he finds the closest owl, activates his mechanical eye and whispers:

“The pigeons have this technology too. Nobody believes me. Yet.”

Nobody knows what he means.

Walter doesn’t either.

But he’s getting closer…

Case File 05

Gus Gilt

Gus Gilt wasn’t always like this.

He used to spend his days touching grass, investing in safe, long-term yield strategies and determined to climb the corporate ladder.

Then he discovered crypto.

Since then, he has dedicated his life to flying across the forest in search of what he calls “undervalued digital assets.”

Shitcoins. NFTs. Memecoins paired with stocks. JPEGs of literally any animal.

He stores everything he finds in an underground chamber somewhere beneath the forest.

Nobody knows where it is. Not even the HooTang Clan. It is considered one of the most closely guarded secrets in the entire conspiracy.

Every night, Gus returns from another expedition, locks the entrance behind him and whispers into the mirror:

“I’m not hoarding.

I’m accumulating.”

Nobody knows what he means.

Gus doesn’t either.

But he’s getting closer…

Case File 06

Hank Thunder

Hank Thunder wasn’t always like this.

He used to run a perfectly legitimate gaming establishment for owls who enjoyed taking unnecessary financial risks.

Then one night, Hank had an idea.

He would build a casino where owls could short and long the HooTang Clan’s token. The problem was, Hank didn’t like the idea of owls losing money.

So he removed the short button. Then he removed the sell button. Nobody complained.

Since then, every owl entering the casino has only had two options:

Buy. Or HODL.

Hank claims this has funded the entire HooTang operation. The Clan will never publicly confirm this, but Hank says the ticker will be revealed after Mint Milestone #1.

Until then, he has dedicated his life to what he calls “The Thunder Strategy.”

Each night, he lights a green candle, points towards the casino and whispers:

“There is no sell button. There never was.”

Nobody knows what he means.

Hank doesn’t either.

But he’s getting closer…

Case File 07

Reginald Strange

Reginald Strange wasn’t always like this.

He was once destined to become the greatest character Nintendo had ever created. Then, during development, someone decided Reginald wasn’t quite right.

Nobody knows why.

Reginald does.

He just won’t tell anyone.

Instead, Nintendo removed him from the game and turned his rainbow design into a racetrack. Reginald never forgave them.

Since then, he has dedicated his life to destroying Nintendo from the inside out.

He became an indie game developer and immediately began work on what he calls his first masterpiece.

“Owl Toss.”

Reginald insists it will be the most in-demand Christmas present this year. There is currently no data to support this.

Each night, Reginald finds the closest owl, eats a mushroom and whispers:

“Mario was never the main character.”

Nobody knows what he means.

Reginald doesn’t either.

But he’s getting closer…

Case File 08

Eddie Hollow

Eddie Hollow was always like this.

He first appeared during the Pigeon Uprising. The HooTang Clan was losing.

Then, moments before the pigeons’ final assault, the sky opened. Eddie soared through a portal from the Cosmos.

His eyes began glowing. Then he opened fire. Ruby red lasers that even the maddest scientists haven’t been able to reproduce since.

Entire legions of pigeons were reduced to feathers before anyone could work out what was happening. The battle was won.

Nobody knows why Eddie was there, or who sent him.

Since then, he has dedicated his life to protecting the HooTang Clan from threats nobody else can see.

Each night, Eddie appears beside the closest owl and whispers:

“The pigeons were never my real target. They were collateral.”

Nobody knows who Eddie is really hunting.

Eddie doesn’t either.

But he’s getting closer…

Case File 09

Hoot Hollister

Hoot Hollister was turned into this.

He was once a perfectly ordinary owl. Then he got thrown into a chamber. Nobody knows why.

Hoot does. He just won’t tell anyone.

He was supposedly the first owl ever locked inside one, and he’s been there ever since.

The years inside haven’t been kind to Hoot. His claws have grown into talons. His beak a weapon of mass destruction.

Since then, Hoot has dedicated his life to what he calls “The Long Game”, trading rations for financial advice and investing blindly into any newly launched token available in the forest of Robinhood. His chamber is littered with rugs in what he calls “the hidden tab.”

Every night, a lone pigeon arrives at his cell, ready to deliver his message throughout Crypto Twitter as part of a paid promotion.

Hoot whispers the ticker into its ear.

The pigeon flies away.

Nobody knows the messages he sends.

But we’re getting closer…
